I am a Professor of Finance at Alliance Manchester Business School. I joined the Alliance Manchester Business School as an Assistant Professor in September 2005. I have a PhD in Economics from the University of York where I also worked as a Teaching Fellow.
I took my MSc at the University of York and my BA in Economics at the University of Cagliari, Italy.
I have resumed my role as Coordinator for the all Accounting and Finance PGT Programmes at Alliance Manchester Business School after several years as a director for the MSc Finance (watch our promo video), MSc Finance and Economics and MSc in Finance and Business Economics.
My research interests are mainly on empirical corporate finance. More in detail, on ownership structure of companies, links between ownership governance and performance, capital structure and financing constraints and portfolio choice related to firm risk taking. I am also interested in banking and various aspects of behavioral finance (in particular the role of personal connections, gender and the motherhood penalty).
